Muchea Site Inductions

The MLC’S Occupational Health and Safety Program requires all persons who wish to access the MLC outside of its normal operating hours or work in the MLC designated restricted areas to undertake an induction program. The program covers MLC OH&S requirements, site rules and animal welfare. The program takes approximately one hour and on completion of the program participants will be issues with a site access card (cost is $30.00 on day of induction of $50.00 if invoiced).

Safety & Site Rules

The MLC is a workplace and as such operates under an Occupational Health and Safety Program, this program is supported by legislation which covers the operations of the MLC. All persons attending the center including members of the public, buyers, contractors, transporters and Livestock Agents are required to comply with the Program & Site rules. Manure Sales

The Muchea Livestock Centre has mixed cattle & sheep manure available for sale to the public. Loading facilities are available for trailers, utes and trucks.

Loading days are Wednesday to Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm.

No loading is carried out on weekends.

A delivery service for loads of 5 cubic metres is available. Please call for a quote.

Truckwash

The Muchea Livestock Centre has an 8 bay drive through Truckwash. An Avdata key operates 4 bays and Coin Operated devices operate another 4 bays. The Truckwash is available on a 24 hour basis (for site access card holders) and during normal MLC operating hours (for other users).

The Avdata system uses a micro chip key that can be used Australia wide. Avdata keys are available from the WAMIA Midland Office. All trucks using the Avdata wash are required to supply their own hose.

Live Export Depot

The Muchea Livestock Centre Cattle Transhipment Area has been accredited by AQIS as a Registered Premises for Live Export.

The Cattle Transhipment Area Muchea Livestock Centre, under AQIS requirements, has a capacity of 1200 head. Accreditation enables the facility to receive, hold and prepare cattle for live export shipments for live exporters – specialising in short term stays.

Livestock Transhipment

CATTLE TRANSHIPMENT – BOARD AND LODGINGS FOR CATTLE ON THE MOVE

The Cattle Transhipment Area takes up 20% of the undercover Centre. The Area has 26 transhipment pens with a capacity of 2,000 head of cattle.

In close vicinity is the 9 way pastoral draft with liveweight scales plus 2 x 4 way standard drafts with liveweight scales. On these scales cattle are weighed individually at speeds up to 240head /hour/ scale (average 200 head/hour – in contrast to Midland bulk weighing at 180 head for group weighing).
