Applications
Under section 17 of the Western Australian Meat Industry Authority Act (1976) any person or company wishing to construct or operate an abattoir is required to seek the prior written approval of the Authority.
Applications to operate – Any person or company wishing to purchase an abattoir or existing approved operators changing company arrangements must apply to the Authority by completing form number one(PDF) and the application attachment information(PDF). Application fee $500.00
Applications to construct – Any person or company wishing to construct an abattoir must apply to the Authority by completing form number one(PDF) and the application attachment information(PDF). Application fee $250.00
All completed applications together with the application fee should be forwarded to the Authority, applications are then considered at the next meeting of the Authority. Please note that it is Authority policy that incomplete applications will not be considered until the required documentation has been provided.
It is important to note that any person or company wishing to construct or operate an abattoir must apply to the Authority prior to commencing operations or construction.
