The Midland saleyard is a public market and any one can buy or sell cattle, sheep or goats at the yards. Sales days with delivery times are listed below.

Selling Stock
If you are selling stock at Midland you must sell your stock through a Livestock Agent. Three Livestock Agents operate at Midland contact details are on the following links:
All stock sold at the Midland Saleyard must be nominated, Cattle nominations close 5:00pm Friday and Sheep nominations close 2:00pm Monday. Nominations can be made using the Nominations Free Call Hotline 1800 721 728, by Fax (08) 9250 4954 or by email on nominations@livestocklogisticswa.com
Cattle must be accompanied by a current NVD, have NLIS devices and be earmarked or branded.
Sheep must be accompanied by a current NVD, have NLIS tags and be earmarked.
Animal Welfare – The Authority works very closely with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Department of Local Government in ensuring that animal welfare standards are complied with. Please ensure that any stock that you bring in are fit for sale and are transported in appropriate vehicles. Stock Identification – All stock processed at Midland must be identified in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Agriculture Western Australia. Identification requirements can be found on the following link www.agric.wa.gov.au under stock brands and the National Livestock Identification Scheme.
National Vendor Declarations – To maximise your return all stock sold at Midland should be accompanied by a National Vendor Declaration. For information on NVDs please contact Meat & Livestock Australia on www.mla.com.au
Buying Stock
If you are buying stock at Midland you must first contact your agent to make arragements for the purchase of stock and to register your Property Identification Code (PIC). If you do not have a valid PIC you can not purchase stock.
All stock purchased must be transported out of the yards in appropriate vehicles. The transport of stock in car boots and the like is not permitted.
All stock purchased should be removed from the yards on the day of sale unless arrangements have been made with yard management for their care.
